# FindADoctor.si France

Find doctors in France with evidence your AI agent can check. Search by condition, procedure, specialty or place. For each doctor you get their official register entry, every practice address and phone, the Assurance Maladie fee category at each practice, and official extra competences and university diplomas. When the doctor has a profile page, you also get the expertise they state. You can see which hospitals and clinics perform a procedure most, each fact names its source and read date, and it all works through MCP or the HTTP API.

No sign-up. Short lists and hospital procedure volumes are free; full evidence has a daily allowance.

> **Not medical advice.** In an emergency, call 15 (SAMU) or 112.

## Connect your agent

- MCP (Streamable HTTP), one address for every country: `https://api.findadoctor.si/mcp`. Search with `country: "FR"`. `get_doctor` reads the country from the `fr_` id, and `hospital_procedure_volumes` is France only. Decide the country first, and ask the person when it is unclear.
- MCP for France only: `https://api-fr.findadoctor.si/mcp`
- HTTP API: `GET https://api-fr.findadoctor.si/api/v1/search`, described in [openapi.json](https://api-fr.findadoctor.si/openapi.json)
- MCP server card: [https://api-fr.findadoctor.si/mcp/server-card](https://api-fr.findadoctor.si/mcp/server-card)
- **In Claude:** Customize → Connectors → + Add → Add custom connector, then paste the MCP URL ([Claude's guide](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/11175166-get-started-with-custom-connectors-using-remote-mcp)).
- **In ChatGPT** (where your plan and workspace allow it): Plugins → + → Add custom MCP server ([OpenAI's guide](https://developers.openai.com/plugins/deploy/connect-chatgpt)).

## What's inside

- **The official register.** about 267,000 doctors in the RPPS register (Annuaire Santé), plus 8,138 found only in the Assurance Maladie directory. Each has their specialty and practice addresses; 74% have a practice phone number.
- **Fee categories.** about 124,000 doctors have an Assurance Maladie fee category for at least one practice: Secteur 1, Secteur 2 or OPTAM. These are mostly doctors in private practice.
- **Official training.** about 49,000 doctors have extra competences or university diplomas (DU/DIU) recorded in the register.
- **Profile pages.** about 10,000 doctors have a Maiia page or a page on one of six hospital websites. 5,844 of them state their expertise or the procedures they offer. Profile pages also give languages, consultation fees and online booking.
- **Hospital volumes.** For about 1,600 hospital sites, Open CCAM (ATIH) shows how often each procedure was done per year, 2021–2025. Counts are per hospital, not per surgeon.
- **Industry declarations.** Declarations by drug and device companies (Transparence Santé) are matched to about 147,000 doctors. They appear only in a doctor's evidence, as declared. They are never used to rank or filter, and their licence (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) does not allow commercial use.

Most doctors have only official data here: specialty, address and fee category. Coverage, gaps and licences are on the [data page](/fr/docs/data/). Data version fr-public-2026-10-16.3.

## How an agent uses it

1. **Search** with `search_doctors`. You get a free short list for a condition, procedure, specialty, place or name, with how directly each doctor's own data matches. You can ask in French or English.
2. **Open the evidence** with `get_doctor`:
   - the RPPS number;
   - every practice with its address, phone and fee category;
   - official competences and diplomas;
   - stated expertise and languages, when known.

   Each different doctor opened counts toward a daily allowance.
3. **For surgery or a procedure**, `hospital_procedure_volumes` shows which hospitals and clinics nearby do it most. Then search for doctors at that hospital.
4. **Confirm with the practice**: fees, availability and booking (Doctolib or the practice's own line).

## How care works in France

- Adults are reimbursed best when their declared GP (médecin traitant) refers them to a specialist. This is the parcours de soins.
- Gynaecologists, ophthalmologists, psychiatrists and stomatologists can be seen directly, as long as a GP is declared. So can dentists. Children under 16 are reimbursed normally without a referral ([service-public.gouv.fr](https://www.service-public.gouv.fr/particuliers/vosdroits/F163), page verified 21 August 2026).
- Secteur 1 doctors charge the standard fee. Secteur 2 doctors may charge more, and OPTAM doctors agree to limit their extra fees. A top-up insurance (mutuelle) often covers part of it.

## What it is not

- **Not a quality rating.** Results are ordered by how directly the doctor's own data matches the need, not by outcomes. No ratings, reviews or rankings are used. Industry links never change the order.
- **Not every detail for every doctor.** Few specialists state their expertise in the sources we can read, and Doctolib and AP-HP pages are not included. For most doctors, the agent should also search the web.
- **Facts are dated.** Every source is named with its read date. Call before you go.
